GIRLS BASKETBALL REGISTRATION
Our program caters to girls in the Sauk Rapids Rice School District who are in 3rd through 8th grade. Players in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades are organized into teams with equal skill levels. Teams for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades will be divided into 'A' and 'B' groups, based on an evaluation conducted in September.
Ages
The program is open to girls in 3rd thru 8th grade.
When
The season for 3rd and 4th grade teams extends from mid-October to mid-January. For teams in 5th through 8th grade, the season runs from mid-October to the beginning of March.
Where
Practices take place at schools in the Sauk Rapids-Rice School District. During the season, teams are allocated to different gyms.
Practices
Practice schedules, including times and days, will be determined by the availability of the gym. Teams are generally expected to practice twice a week. However, during the school season, seventh and eighth-grade teams will have practice once a week.
Practice times will be either 6:00 to 7:30 or 7:30 to 9. The older teams will be assigned the later times.
Games
Third-grade teams will participate in the Becker League and one tournament.
Fourth-grade teams will participate in the Becker League and two tournaments.
Fifth-grade teams will compete in five tournaments.
Sixth-grade teams will participate in six tournaments.
Seventh-grade teams will participate in seven tournaments.
Eighth-grade teams will participate in eight tournaments.
Teams may choose to participate in more tournaments; however, the additional costs will be divided among the team players.
Jerseys
Jerseys are included in the registration fee. Shorts and warm-up shirts are available for separate purchase at the clothing store.
Youth are issued a new jersey in 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades.
THIS YEAR ALL PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE A NEW JERSEY. Sample jerseys will be available for trying on at the parents meeting.
Extra Costs
Additional costs beyond the initial registration fee may arise for any extra tournaments or practices in which the team decides to participate. Please be aware that shorts and warm-up shirts are to be purchased separately from the registration fee.
Clothing Order
We will have two clothing orders with the first one being open from August 19 to September 3.

The girls' season will run between mid-October to the beginning of March 2025.
Parents meeting with be September 11, 2024. Jerseys can be tried on for sizing at the parents meeting. They will be handed out at practice at the start of the season. All players will be receiving a jersey this year.
Third and fourth grade will be participating in the Becker League.

Tryouts for grades 6th, 7th and 8th will be held on September 15, 2024 if there are enough registered players. For grades 3, 4 and 5 they will be divided into equal skilled teams at the end of the second week of practice.
